After I posted about my struggle with panic attacks on Instagram I received a lot of messages from other runners (I’m sorry if I haven’t gotten back to you yet!) sharing their similar experiences with me.
Some thanked me for even mentioning that panic attacks had affected my training because it’s so isolating and it helped them knowing that they weren’t alone in the struggle.
Because of the obvious lack of stories available about runners and panic attacks I wanted to start a series on the topic. I hope to create a place for people to share their stories and read about how others experience and manage their panic attacks.
(With the current COVID-19 pandemic, this is either the best time to start this series or the worst.)
