Today is Elk Run day

It’s beautiful here—very beautiful. I’ve been to Italy and Russia and driven through the Pyrenees from Spain to France and back, and those places were beautiful and interesting, but Crested Butte has this crazy charm paired with its beauty.

How about here’s a photo because I don’t know what else to say it. Not that the photo will do it justice.

Pano for blog- smaller

Overlooking Crested Butte, Colorado.

Yesterday I was laid up part of the day with a mixture of a migraine and altitude sickness. Seriously, stay hydrated people. 8,900 feet elevation is no joke. Bring Pedialyte.

Today is the day everyone involved and interested in the Elk Run 5k has been waiting for.

Entries have sold out; there are over 900 entries.

Races start at 8:40 a.m. with the boy’s high school race, followed by girl’s at 9:20 a.m. and the open, Citizen’s race at 10:00 a.m. (where I hear there’s significate prize money, because a race organized by a world champion is going to know what’s up when it comes to prize money).

There’s a post-race party from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with a live music by the 6 Million Dollar Band.

Follow Elk Run’s Instagram for updates throughout the morning and afternoon.

Proceeds go to Living Journeys.
